The Finson Road placement serves older adults with prolonged mental health issues. Residents require support and encouragement to remain as independent as possible. The Direct Care Counselor must possess the skills to oversee and organize their shift, provide care management, supervise and assist in the development of skills and fostering abilities, in addition to providing nurturing support and direct care to our program participants.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in human services or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is also acceptable.
- Recognize each client’s unique needs and desires.
- Flexibility, ability to multitask, and willingness to learn about mental illness, cognitive deficits, and multiple medical conditions associated with aging.
