Overview

B&L Auto & Truck Parts - Bangor, ME. Immediate opportunity for Delivery Drivers. Company Vehicle provided. Hourly Rate: $15.50. The Delivery Driver is the main point of contact with customers and is responsible for fostering strong client relationships.

The Delivery Driver will pick up and drop off automotive parts, adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. Ensure orders are properly fulfilled, maintain safety, and provide excellent customer service.

• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness and correct charges.
• Take directions from dispatcher, follow assigned routes and schedules, use navigation apps and alternative routes as necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with customer operations.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Accept payments, prepare reports including invoices, return forms, reconcile debts and credits, and manage all money related to deliveries.
• When applicable, complete daily maintenance checks on company delivery vehicle and notify manager of any issues.
• Assist in any and all store/warehouse duties (stock, parts pulling, etc.) as assigned.
• Maintain and promote workplace safety.
• Secure and transfer cash or other assets.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Must be 21 years old or over to meet insurance requirements.
• Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds;
  Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers must lift 75 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Manage, track and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
• Use tablet or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking and customer interface/signature capture.
• Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively, professionally, with tact and diplomacy.
• Take and follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed.
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
