Job Details- Effectively work as part of a team, communicate effectively with close attention to details
- Maintain academic and attendance requirements for participation in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
- Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors, school staff, parent(s) or guardian(s), and employer
- Prepare supplies and instruments and monitor inventory while maintaining pharmacy records and other documents
- Assist with placing and distributing medication and supply orders and helping customers both in person and via telephone
- Provide support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the packing and delivery of medications to customers in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school junior or senior
- 16 years of age
- Must be authorized and approved by the Wisconsin Youth Apprentice Program in accordance with your local school criteria
- Reliable transportation to get to and from work
- Satisfactory progress towards graduation
- Commit to completing 450 hours at the jobsite (10-15 hours per week)
- Demonstrated maturity and responsibility
- Skill with attending to details, excellent attendance and a strong work ethic
- Foster a culture of caring through interpersonal relationships and communication

Job SummaryPrepares medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measures, mixes, counts out, labels, and records amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements Primary Responsibilities- Accepts prescription orders.
- Performs calculations for medication orders.
- Prepares supplies and instruments. Maintains inventory.
- Assists in preparing patient medications under the supervision of qualified staff.
- Participates in quality assurance practices.
- Maintains pharmacy records and other documents.
- Implements error prevention and safety strategies to improve safety and accuracy of prescription preparation and delivery.
- Places medication and supply orders.
- Assists in the preparation of nonsterile compounds under the supervision of qualified staff.
- Respects patient confidentiality and maintains Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 16 years of age prior to start date and current high school student
- Acceptance into Youth Apprenticeship program through local high school
- No experience required
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
