Seneca Foods in Baraboo, WI is currently seeking a Machinist to join our team! A Machinist produces precisely engineered parts used to build can manufacturing equipment. Their duties include completing repairs, setting up equipment, operating equipment, and inspecting finished parts.

Responsibilities:

  • Layout and install machinery.
  • Layout and perform various fabrication, repair or modify assessments.
  • Read interpret blueprints.
  • Make up, repair, adjust, and maintain various conveying equipment including elevators, palletizers, track work, and cableways.
  • Use various hand and power tools.
  • Ability to weld and buildup worn machine parts using gas or electric welding equipment.
  • Ability to determine and make most efficient set-ups.
  • Ensure that GMP's (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical principles involved in repair and overhaul work.
  • Familiar with hand tools, power tools, hoists, lubricating equipment, gas and electrical welding, and buring appartus.
  • Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
