Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment by providing security services for the staff, patients, visitors, and premises as well as be first responders to urgent facility matters.

• Protects property and staff by conducting interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues, theft, and monitoring of parking lots.
• Promotes visitor and employee safety while they are on the organizations property by providing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming proper operation of elevators, assisting with disruptive individuals, patient restraints and provides escorts to staff and clients when requested.
• Responds to overhead pages or requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel through the building, and provides post-mortem services.
• Provides professional customer service in complex and dynamic situations, communicates with clinical staff to proactively identify safety and security hazards.
• Observes and reports security concerns/assessments; completes incident reports and shift logs and forwards to appropriate individuals.
• Provides maintenance assistance through property conservation and campus safety tasks (alarm testing, life safety equipment checks, AEDs, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, door integrity checks, etc.).
• Enforces organizational policies and procedures.
• Assists with monitoring, reviewing and investigating incidents using the video management system.
• May operate a motor vehicle to patrol.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety-minded manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

• Following extension of a conditional offer of employment, applicant must successfully complete a psychological assessment to confirm suitability for providing security services as described in this job description.

• Constant use of hearing and vision; ability to perceive alarms, machinery, distances, colors.
• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling weights up to 50 lbs; occasional over 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and movement; occasional crawling or running; occasional keyboard use and driving.
• Occasional use of smell to detect odors; occasional restricting mobility tasks as needed.
• Occasional lifting of patients and movement tasks as required.
