Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve its industrial control system environment across multiple production facilities. This role sits within a corporate engineering group and focuses on the reliability, performance, and security of control system infrastructure used in plant operations.
This position blends hands on technical work with cross functional collaboration and provides exposure to both plant floor technologies and enterprise level infrastructure.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the health and availability of industrial control system infrastructure across multiple manufacturing sites
- Monitor system performance, user access, backups, and security to ensure stable plant operations
- Support automation and controls initiatives involving new system deployments, expansions, and modernization efforts
- Assist with upgrades and lifecycle management of existing control platforms and supporting infrastructure
- Perform hands on implementation work when assigned, including installation, configuration, and validation of control system components
- Partner with controls engineers, IT teams, and plant stakeholders to ensure consistent standards and best practices across facilities
- Contribute to industrial cybersecurity efforts, including network segmentation, access control, and system hardening
Preferred Technical Background
- Practical experience supporting servers in virtualized environments
- Strong foundation in network design or network administration, particularly in industrial settings
- Familiarity with AVEVA platforms such as System Platform or ArchestrA
- Prior exposure to manufacturing or process driven environments is a plus, but not required
- Experience supporting or implementing industrial cybersecurity strategies
Technical Skills and Experience
- Hands on experience with Ethernet/IP communication within plant control systems
- Experience configuring and supporting managed industrial network switches, such as Stratix, is preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES), particularly AVEVA MES or similar platforms, is a plus
- Exposure to software development environments such as .NET is beneficial
- Working knowledge of SQL databases is preferred
- Understanding of control panel design concepts and specifications is helpful
- Strong general computing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
