Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various precision machining equipment to produce high-quality components. Your expertise will ensure that all parts meet strict specifications and quality standards, contributing to the overall success of our production processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating machines; maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies.
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Plan stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipate needed stock; place and expedite orders for stock; verify receipt of stock.
- Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs.
- Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vices; tramming heads.
- Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample work pieces; adhere to international standards.
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; adjust and reprogram controls; sharpen and replace worn tools; adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous machining experience required; preferably 10–15 years of applicable experience.
- Motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to apply common sense in understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in oral, written and diagrammatic form; locate and identify problems involving technical setup and operating malfunctions, take measurements, and use technical mathematics.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Demonstrates positive safety attitude.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, motorized lift equipment, handheld assembly tools.
- Ability to stand for 8 or more hours and lift up to 75 lbs.
