-based company that provides safe and effective nuclear solutions for global security.
We are currently seeking qualified applicants to fill large machining center positions at our facility in Barberton, Ohio. Successful applicants will set up and operate large CNC Vertical Boring Machines (Vertical Lathes) and associated auxiliary equipment to produce high‑precision components.
Purpose- Perform multi‑axis machining operations with high precision, using right‑angle heads, facing heads, inspection probes, and a variety of fixtures and tools.
- Work with a programmer to develop, test, and revise CNC programs, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Position and secure work pieces and fixtures on the machine table.
- Verify tools against program specifications and assemble tooling as required.
- Assist crane operators with rigging and moving parts for machine loading and unloading.
- Conduct final inspections using probes and precision measuring equipment.
- Clean, deburr, and attach seals or protective covers as needed.
- Perform minor machine, attachment, and tooling maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Verify material identity and characteristics as required.
- Maintain records, complete process documentation, and identify equipment and products for traceability.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant precision machining experience on large machines;
Journeyman level machinist designation or equivalent preferred.
Must be open and available to work all shifts.
Qualifications- Proficient with CNC controls, including G and M coded commands.
- Ability to edit or modify CNC programs and write minor programs.
- Working knowledge of feeds and speeds for all material types.
- Work to ±0.001" tolerance and microfinish 16 when necessary.
- Read and interpret geometric tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.
- Use measuring instruments such as dial bore gauges, indicator snap gauges, verniers, 0.0001" micrometers, and other specialty equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow complex procedures.
- Must pass all pre‑employment processes, including skills assessments, mechanical comprehension testing, background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
Require regular communication, standing, hand use, reaching, walking, occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, ladder use, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Pay and BenefitsHourly pay: $40.90 (Ohio). Compensation may include medical, retirement, and other benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement upon offer.
Relocation package available for eligible candidates upon offer.
