Industrial Paint Technician – 2nd Shift (Mon–Fri 3:30 pm–1:00 am)

Job Description
:
This position is primarily responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, or enamel to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of equipment and manufactured structures.

• Read and understand work orders and mechanical prints.
• Prepare surfaces for painting including sanding, chemical etching, and priming.
• Select premixed paints, or mix required pigments, and thin and dry substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
• Paint surfaces with gravity, siphon, airless spray guns utilizing electrostatic painting equipment.
• Touch up blemished or damaged painted areas (possibly with brush or roller).
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Operate a forklift and overhead crane to move material to and from work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Paint school or paint tech program certificate preferred.
• 2 or more years of related experience in industrial painting.
• A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a certificate/degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, bend, and move about the facility.
• Understanding of basic divisible math for mixing paint.
• Great attendance.
• Desire and ability to work overtime.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Pass a required drug screen.

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and must wear the appropriate PPE.
• Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
