Keep a world-class aluminum operation running at its best

Join Howmet Aerospace in Barberton, OH as a full-time maintenance professional supporting our Barberton Aluminum Remelt Foundry (Howmet Barberton Cast House). Our state-of-the-art, highly automated, continuous horizontal aluminum casting operation runs 24/7/365 — and the Night Crew (7PM–7AM, 12-hour crewing) keeps it moving safely and reliably.

A night in the life

As the plant shifts into night operations, you’ll complete pre-shift safety checks, prioritize preventive maintenance, and respond to calls on continuous process equipment. One hour you may be replacing a hydraulic pump and verifying pressures; the next, you’re tracing a motor fault back through a PLC input and consulting schematics to isolate the issue. You’ll partner with production, champion crew safety, and document your work in the CMMS so the next crew has a clean handoff.

What you’ll work on Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot continuous process machinery across motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyors, water systems, and other production equipment using diagrams, specifications, and operator manuals.

Dismantle equipment safely using hoists, cranes, and appropriate tools to remove and replace defective parts.

Execute maintenance such as replacing pumps, motors, chains, sprockets, and cables; repairing/replacing drives; troubleshooting PLC logic; fabricating and mounting guards; and adjusting hydraulics.

Maintain personal protective equipment and actively promote BCC Safety Regulations.

Complete required PMs and related documentation in the CMMS; contribute to reviews and special projects that improve equipment reliability.
