Supervisor, Fabrication - 2nd Shift
We are seeking a dedicated Front Line Manager to lead and support our skilled trades workforce across key fabrication processes, including fitting, welding, assembly, and machining. This role is essential to maintaining operational excellence, ensuring safety, and driving efficiency throughout daily production. The Front Line Manager will coordinate work activities, guide day-to-day execution, and help optimize performance across shifts. While this position is assigned to 2nd shift, flexibility to transition between shifts or work areas—either temporarily or permanently—is required to maintain seamless operations across multiple departments.
Availability for scheduled overtime is also necessary to meet evolving operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support union hourly skilled trades employees across fitting, welding, assembly, and machining operations.
- Oversee manual, robotic, and automatic welding and machining processes, as well as stress-relief operations and lifting/handling procedures.
- Provide leadership and direction during 2nd-shift operations that establish production plans and prepare work for execution by subsequent shifts.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor assigned activities across multiple buildings to meet production and quality objectives.
- Manage the complexity and volume of components within assigned fabrication areas, ensuring proper interpretation and communication of requirements and specifications.
- Use computer systems to input and manage data related to maintenance work orders, hourly employee time entries, and production schedules.
- Evaluate existing operations and recommend continuous-improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, strengthen policies and procedures, and support cost-effective performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, ideally within a unionized manufacturing or heavy-industrial environment.
- Strong background in fabrication processes, including fitting, welding, and machining operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage diverse teams and clearly communicate requirements related to complex components.
Pay: $66,000 - $95,000
