Barberton Mancan is seeking Welders to join an exceptional metal fabrication company in Barberton.

This is a full time, temp to hire position

Job Summary:

The Welder will weld, cut, and fabricate metal pieces and products by using TIG and MIG welding equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

• Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.

• Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.

• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.

• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

• Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of welding machines and tools used in welding including weld signs and symbols.

• Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.

• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.

• Basic understanding of mathematics, measurement tools (caliper and tape measure for example), and interpretation of blue print and weld symbols as related to welding assignments.

• Ability to pass weld pressure test.

• Both MIG and TIG experience

Education and Experience:

• 3 to 4 years of experience

• Minimum 2 years of TIG / Fabrication experience is mandatory

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work long periods on your feet.

• Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.

• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.

Must pass a pre employment background check and drug screen.
