Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Location: Barberton, Ohio (Onsite; hybrid flexibility may be earned over time)

About the OrganizationOur client is a faith-based, nonprofit cost-sharing organization serving a national membership across all 50 states. With a 42+ year history, they facilitate millions in monthly medical cost sharing and operate with annual revenues between $700M–$800M. Their team of 400+ employees has strengthened infrastructure, modernized technology, and is positioned for strategic growth.
Despite a strong and viable product, the organization seeks a strategic, digitally savvy marketing leader to modernize brand strategy, expand membership, and improve retention.
Role SummaryThe Vice President of Marketing and Communications will serve as the executive marketing leader responsible for rebuilding the marketing function, refreshing the brand, modernizing product positioning, and driving measurable growth. This role is a strategic partner to the CEO and the executive team, overseeing brand, digital, creative, and communications initiatives while leading a growing marketing organization.
Non-Negotiables /Required Qualifications
- Faith-Based Alignment:
Must be comfortable working in a faith-based Christian nonprofit and agree to the organization’s Statement of Beliefs as part of employment. - Executive Marketing Leadership:
Proven experience leading marketing at the executive level (VP/CMO or equivalent) with a track record of scaling or rebuilding marketing functions. - Digital & Brand Expertise:
Demonstrated success in digital marketing, brand strategy, and integrated campaign execution that drives measurable growth, engagement, and retention. - Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership:
Ability to partner with a CEO and executive peers on enterprise growth initiatives and collaborate with IT, analytics, and operational teams. - Onsite / Location Requirements:
Willingness to work onsite in Barberton, Ohio, with relocation or commuting as needed. - Team & Budget Management:
Experience managing senior-level marketing leaders and overseeing multi-million-dollar marketing budgets with ROI accountability.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership- Build and execute a full marketing and communications strategy to drive new member acquisition and retention.
- Rebuild and modernize the brand identity, messaging, and market positioning.
- Refresh product tiers and value propositions to better appeal to target demographics.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and collaborate closely with executive peers.
- Lead digital marketing, paid media, social media, brand campaigns, and creative strategy.
- Expand reach into younger demographics and individuals transitioning from traditional insurance.
- Develop campaigns that increase long-term member engagement and reduce drop-off rates.
- Manage and develop the Director of Marketing and Director of Sales.
- Build a modern marketing structure, including future hires aligned to brand, digital, creative, campaigns, and analytics.
- Partner with IT and data teams to leverage insights and technology for marketing growth.
- Oversee and optimize a $20–30M marketing budget.
- Implement reporting frameworks, KPIs, and ROI measurement across all channels.
- Evaluate external vendors and determine the best path forward for campaigns and programs.
- Experience in subscription-based or membership-driven organizations.
- Prior experience in healthcare, insurance, or cost-sharing organizations.
- Background in retention strategy, affinity programs, or member lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to reverse stagnant or declining growth through new creative approaches.
