Quality Control Specialist

The QC Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our products meet established quality standards before they are released to customers. Primary duties include inspecting, testing, and analyzing products or processes to identify defects or areas for improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Locates parts/merchandise and pulls from inventory demonstrating an understanding of the Hollander parts numbering system and warehouse locations according to customer work order or sales invoice.
• Audits automotive parts/merchandise to order specifications.
• Verifies part condition and damage against order using ARA damage locators as it relates to inspecting merchandise and maintaining quality control.
• Manages inventory efficiently and effectively by placing merchandise in an organized and understandable manner, verifying quality when parts are put into inventory and ensuring tags are visible.
• Prepares parts/merchandise for storage and/or shipment using proper bagging, tagging, wrapping and packaging to prevent damage.
• Effectively communicates and resolves any discrepancies from the customer's order specifications.
• Conducts internal audits to assess adherence to quality management systems and standards, as well as participating in external audits conducted by regulatory agencies or customers.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, distribution, and management, to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Investigates the root causes of quality issues and collaborates with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Education/

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.

Certificates and Licenses:

Forklift certification. Training and certification available.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear. While doing this job the employee will be primarily on their feet for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance is required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. This is a smoke free environment for safety reasons. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
