Overview
BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Security Access Control Technician for its Barberton, OH location. The Security Access Control Technician implements and supports the NOG-B Local, Corporate and DOE facility Access Control Security requirements in accordance with applicable Federal regulations, Orders, Manuals and associated directives.
Job Responsibilities- Interact professionally with employees, visitors, sponsors, regulators and customers.
- Process, maintain, and understand security functions such as foreign travel and other security reporting requirements.
- Manage vehicle parking records and security policy and procedures.
- Maintain administrative knowledge of the NBIS, CPCI, and clearance systems.
- Provide support to personnel required to submit the electronic Security Questionnaire for initial and re-investigation clearance requests.
- Assist in tracking and status updates of security clearance applicants and clearance support.
- Maintain administrative knowledge of the Symmetry Access Control System.
- Provide physical support to departments required to maintain the access control infrastructure.
- Assist with the access denial and access reactivation processes, including database maintenance.
- Assist with the site badging process, including taking photos, creating/issuing new or replacement badges, and enrolling badge holders into the Security Access Control System.
- Maintain administrative knowledge of the Security Information Management System (SIMS).
- Assist with incoming and outgoing cleared and uncleared visit requests.
- Assist with creation and maintenance of personnel security profiles/records.
- Assist with creation and maintenance of documents, vault, lock & key records.
- Maintain administrative knowledge of the Axis Camera Monitoring System.
- Provide physical support to maintain the Camera Monitoring System infrastructure and assist with camera monitoring setup and database maintenance.
- Assist with and conduct Facility Security Training required for ongoing site access, including New Hire Security Orientation, Clearance Briefing and Security Refresher.
- Participate in Other security-related training programs as needed.
- Prepare site security plans for foreign visitors and manage on-site foreign national visitors.
- Participate in OPEX and other Corporate Security programs/initiatives.
- Be a member of the Human Reliability Security Program (HRP).
- Prepare and participate in government security audits and self-audits.
- Support additional security-related projects/duties as directed by the NOG-B Security Manager.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree preferred. - At least five (3-5) years of experience with NOG-B Security or in a related discipline.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and ability to implement new software and applications as needed.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship with no dual citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance.
Pay: $55,000- $88,000
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $55,000 and $88,000 per year. The final offer depends on local market factors, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective considerations. The total compensation package may include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
Details of participation in these plans will be provided at the time of offer. If hired, the selected candidate will be employed at-will unless governed by a collective bargaining agreement. BWXT reserves the right to modify base salary and other compensation or benefits at any time.
