QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Complete current training in First Aid and CPR.
  • Minimum of three years experience working with school age children and/or families (preferable).
  • Administrative/management skills, including budget preparation and management.
  • Valid Kentucky driver’s license.
POSITION SUMMARY

Create caretaking experiences that enhance students’ abilities to succeed in school by implementing after school and summer learning opportunities, promoting family engagement, and forming partnerships to promote academic achievement, social-emotional development, and college and career readiness.

DISTRICT AND SCHOOL PRIORITY ALIGNMENT

Align actions with district and school values and core priorities. Evaluated based on the efficacy of aligned actions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and direct all functions of the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant program.
  • Assure the implementation of activities aligned to the 21st Century Community Learning Center required goals.
  • Coordinate with community partners to provide services and opportunities to student participants and their families.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Advisory Council.
  • Orchestrate a minimum of four annual educational opportunities for parents and families that support academic achievement.
  • Accept responsibility for the operations of the program, including the safety of staff and students during program hours.
  • Administer grant funds and activities in accordance with Board of Education policy and procedures.
  • Plan the master calendar and schedule for staff, program activities, and daily curriculum.
  • Attend and implement mandatory and related training.
  • Complete APR and other mandated reporting requirements, including related data entry and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including community partners, families, building principal(s) and school day staff.
  • Link program activities to school day learning through ongoing communication with school day staff.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and direct all paid and volunteer staff as assigned.
  • Adhere to the appropriate code of ethics.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  • Developmentally and age-appropriate practices for the education and development of youth.
  • Technology skills related to data entry, record keeping, and essential communication.
  • Budget preparation and control.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Interpersonal skills: patience, courtesy, and CARE.
  • Practices and procedures involved in the functioning of after school and summer learning programs.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Indoor and outdoor activity.
