QUALIFICATIONS

High School students enrolled in Nelson County Schools as a Junior or Senior and at least 16 years of age. Students are expected to average 18 hours per week and no more than 3.5 hours per day.

POSITION SUMMARY

To create a positive environment that aligns with the vision for Nelson County Schools. Provides opportunities for student leadership development and professional networking with NCS staff & community.

Perform duties aligned to specific student leader roles.

Demonstrate the ability to communicate and collaborate with peers, NCS staff and community members.

Logistical and operational support of athletic events as designated.

Office practices, procedures and equipment, basic computer skills.

Telephone techniques and etiquette.

Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.

Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.

Proper methods, materials, supplies, tools and equipment used in daily work.

Proper lifting techniques.

Work independently with little direction.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed while sitting, standing and/or walking.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.

Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
