Boone’s Butcher Shop is a family owned and operated retail meat store, slaughterhouse, and custom processing facility that has been operating for over 75 years. We pride ourselves in offering a wide selection of quality products and services and are looking for motivated individuals who are looking to improve or develop new skills and grow within our company. We have full time and part time positions with great hours and benefits.

We are currently seeking a full-time meat-cutter to join our team. We primarily deal in beef and pork, although we do work with lamb and goat occasionally. Job includes standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy objects, working with sharp knives as well as other tools and some machinery.

• Prepare and place meat cuts in display counter, so they will appear attractive to customers
• Prepare and place meats on trays for self-serve coolers and bunkers in retail store according to standard.
• With a friendly demeanor greets and assists customers when in the store
• Maintains a professional demeanor with coworkers and customers
• Prepare custom cuts of meat at customer’s request
• Assist with breaking down beef and pork carcasses for custom orders and retail
• Assist with weekly meat inventories and ordering from vendors
• Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat quality
• Assist with making ground products
• Perform sanitation duties as necessary
• Maintain equipment at a basic level
• Communicate with management about questions or concerns
• Other duties as assigned

• Prior experience with primal beef and pork cuts
• Experience in retail a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Dexterity: good hand-eye coordination is needed when handling knives and slippery pieces of meat.
• Self-motivated individual with a desire to master and teach the art of meat butchery
