HVAC Technician​/Maintenance Refrigeration Fivestar

Description

General Summary – Under limited supervision performs work from routine to difficult in the repair and installation of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment in retail convenience stores and other food service-related equipment such as ovens, deep fryers. Basic and routine maintenance will also be assigned.

• Work on retail refrigeration and HVAC systems (includes food service-related equipment, and other food service-related equipment such as ovens, deep fryers. Walk-in coolers/freezers and heating/air conditioning equipment)
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Basic maintenance such as repairing plumbing system, doors, locks, and changing bulbs.

• Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• At least one year experience in food service equipment HVAC/Refrigeration.
• Have or able to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Knowledge of tools, materials, and practices related to facility construction and maintenance.
• Able to understand instructions and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Team player, honest, hardworking, and excellent attendance.
• Basic computer skills, including ability to use an iPad and work order software.
• Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Operation of power and manual tools.
• Operation of light and heavy equipment.

• Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays, requires extensive travel. Most travel consists of day trips, but some overnight trips may be required.
• Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions.
• Perform heavy manual labor.
• Able to squat and kneel and a regular basis.
• Climb and work on ladders and is comfortable working and operating equipment at various heights.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
