Duke Companies is looking for a hard-working individual to take on the role of Construction Site
Assistant. This role requires a servant-hearted, self-starting individual who can take on a large
volume of physical activities and do so with excellence.
The Construction Site Assistant will work within the bounds and context of the company’s vision,
mission, values, policies and strategic plan. Among other things, this person will be responsible
for keeping all job sites clean and safe; transporting materials; and performing miscellaneous
manual labor as needed.
- Sweeping and vacuuming out projects under construction
- Picking up trash and left over materials around the jobsite to keep each site both clean and safe
- Setting and removing dump trailers
- Daily checking of heating in houses under construction and making sure that they are closed up properly
- Checking furnace filters and sump pumps
- Covering and uncovering protected areas from frost
- Helping at the end of jobs with any loose ends and punch lists
- Help pick up, transport, or move materials as needed
- Organizing materials or company spaces as needed
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, project team members, and trade partners on tasks as needed to move the construction project forward
- Other related duties as assigned or needed
Supplemental Job Functions:
- Attend company and industry events including meetings, trainings, workshops, etc.
- Be present at or help at company events if/when they occur
- Run with and lead special projects as needed (which may/may-not directly relate to pre-defined functions), primarily in connection with the strategic plan.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and ability to operate some general construction and site maintenance equipment, such as:
Shop Vac, Lawn Mower, humidifiers - Familiar with and capable of using basic jobsite management technology and software
- Familiar with reading blueprints
- Integrity and Dependability
- Shows Initiative, Detail-Oriented, Quick-learner
- Motivated, with strong communication skills
- Ability to work outdoor in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to drive to and from various homesites and locations
