Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting with the orientation programing for incoming students.
Responsibilities- Attends and participates in training sessions.
- Be actively involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Orientation sessions.
- Be a point of contact between prospective students and GSC before, during, and after orientation sessions.
- Welcomes new students and families to the college, assists with orientation check‑in process, facilitates guided tours, leads small group activities, and participates in presentations (on‑stage or off‑stage) during orientation sessions.
- Assists various GSC departments and offices as needed.
- Must be a full‑time, degree‑seeking undergraduate student and have completed 12 credit hours at Gordon State College.
- Must be in good academic and judicial standing with GSC; minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Must have completed the Highlander Leadership Academy or have plans to complete it before orientations begin.
- Exhibits leadership potential and a positive, energetic attitude.
- Possesses a working knowledge of GSC campus and student support services.
- Displays effective verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
- Has a willingness to work in a team environment and often with limited direct supervision.
- Demonstrates self‑initiative, punctuality, maturity, and flexibility.
- Pay rate - $11.00/hr.
- Position is up to 19 hours per week.
