Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Principal, the Assistant Principal will carry out the following duties:

1. Assists in implementing the identified goals of the School and the System.

2. Supervise and evaluate staff, curriculum, programs, and departments as assigned.

3. Assists the principal in developing the school improvement plan.

4. Counsel with students, parents, and teachers when an individual student's academic and behavioral problems are involved.

5. Maintain effective relationships with representatives of law enforcement and social welfare agencies.

6. Supervise assigned aspects of the extracurricular program, including social activities, assemblies, contests, etc.

7. Supervise certain school auxiliary services which may include safety programs, library services, audiovisual supplies, and textbooks.

8. Assist in supervising the preparation of such school communications as bulletins, handbooks, annuals, and newspapers.

9. Supervise the State testing programs as required.

10. Prepare School, System, State and Federal reports as required.

11. Assume other duties as assigned by the principal.

Minimum Requirements

Georgia Certification in Educational Leadership.

Be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit, climb and lift items of approximately 10 pounds throughout the workday.
