Part-Time Faculty Positions

Gordon State College is recruiting for part-time faculty to teach courses in various disciplines including:
Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Human Resource Information System, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Founded in 1852, GSC is a member of the University System of Georgia. The college has a distinctive legacy of excellent scholarship and service. GSC offers nearly 30 degrees, which includes multiple associate and baccalaureate pathways for students. With an enrollment of over 3,100 students, GSC offers an intimate academic setting with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide.

Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses in the School of Business, ensuring high-quality delivery of content and student engagement; contributing to the development, review, and updating of course materials and syllabus to ensure alignment with industry trends and academic standards; providing timely feedback on assignments, assessments, and exams; holding office hours for student consultations; offering academic guidance and mentorship; assessing student performance through assignments, tests, projects, and other methods as defined by the course syllabus;

participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the development of academic initiatives; collaborating with fellow faculty members to improve instructional quality and student success; staying updated on the latest research, teaching methods, and industry practices to continuously improve instructional effectiveness and stay relevant in the field; and maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and any other necessary documentation.

Required qualifications include a master's degree in Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information System or related field, with 18 or more semester credit hours in that discipline, and two (2) years teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred qualifications include a doctorate degree (PhD, DBA) in teaching discipline and three (3) - five (5) years of professional experience in a business-related field, preferably in the industry relevant to the courses being taught.

Required documents to attach include a resume/curriculum vitae, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of computers and job-related software programs, advanced user of MS Office applications, experienced user of Zoom to set up meetings/sessions with students, and experienced using Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace D2L, etc.
