Field Placement Coordinator

The Field Placement Coordinator works cooperatively with the Director of Field Placement to ensure compliance with institutional, district, and state requirements related to practicum, internship, and student teaching placements. The Coordinator helps to develop and maintain partnerships with school districts, oversees placement operations, manages field placement personnel, and ensures candidates receive high-quality clinical experiences that support program outcomes and professional standards.

Field Placement Coordination Oversee the placement of teacher candidates in practicum and student teaching experiences. Establish and maintain Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and partnership agreements with school districts. Verify placement eligibility requirements, including mentor teacher qualifications and certification status. Monitor placement quality and alignment with program requirements. Resolve placement issues and concerns as they arise. Compliance and Record Management Maintain accurate records related to placements, field hours, evaluations, and required documentation.

Monitor candidate completion of field experience requirements and documents. Coordinate reporting and data collection for accreditation, assessment, and state reporting purposes. Implement quality assurance measures to ensure integrity of field experience documentation. Communication and Partnership Development Cultivate relationships with school district administrators, principals, and cooperating teachers. Represent the institution at district meetings and partnership events. Coordinate orientation and training for candidates, supervisors, and mentor teachers.

Other Responsibilities Assist with recruitment, retention, and candidate support initiatives. Perform other duties related to field experiences as assigned.

Required Qualifications Master's degree in the field of Education. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a public P-12 school setting. Knowledge of Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification requirements and educator preparation regulations. Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with school district personnel, faculty, candidates, and other stakeholders. Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills. Experience managing multiple projects and maintaining detailed records.
