Millwright Mechanic
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery with a strong emphasis on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical components, and fabrication work. You will use your technical expertise to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently by reading and interpreting blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, and responding quickly to mechanical issues in a demanding production environment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Recognize, remove, and replace sprockets, bearings, roller chains, and related mechanical components.
- Read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints to plan and execute repairs and installations.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance duties to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Cut, weld, and perform fabrication work using different types of steel to repair or modify equipment.
- Assess machinery and hydraulic problems and complete repairs in a timely and safe manner.
- Determine shaft sizes, take accurate measurements, and build shafts for replacement as needed.
- Adhere strictly to an absolute lock-out policy by ensuring power sources are turned off, machines are locked out, and isolation is verified before work begins.
- Submit detailed work requests and complete work orders to document maintenance and repair activities.
- Work safely at heights and in physically demanding conditions while following all safety procedures.
- Perform job duties that require walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot pneumatic systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance.
- Experience maintaining bearings, drives, roller chains, and similar mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in recognizing and changing sprockets, bearings, and chains.
- Experience performing routine preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Ability to assess and repair machinery and hydraulic problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to determine shaft sizes, take precise measurements, and build replacement shafts.
- Strict adherence to lock-out/tag-out and other safety policies.
- Capability to complete and manage work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort working at heights in a physically demanding environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Welding experience, including cutting and joining different types of steel.
- Fabrication experience for repairing or modifying equipment components.
- Familiarity with roller chains, bearings, and other rotating equipment components.
- Hands-on experience with industrial troubleshooting in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring and building shafts or other components.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and company policies.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts and in challenging environmental conditions.
