The Department of Community Supervision (DCS) was created by HB310 in the 2015 Legislative Session. As part of the executive branch of Georgia’s government, the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is responsible for the supervision of approximately 180,000 adult felony offenders and Class A and Class B designated juvenile offenders. It is our mission to protect and serve all Georgia citizens through effective and efficient offender supervision in our communities, while providing opportunities for successful outcomes.
Job SummaryUnder direct supervision,performs routine analysis of samples. Performslaboratorytests and procedures under appropriate supervision. Operates and assists in maintaininglabequipment.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Assists in the collection of information and/or samples, such as urine samples
- Cleans, maintains, and prepares supplies and work areas
- May assist with laboratory procedures under appropriate supervision
- Prepares samples or specimens for testing
- Receives and logs samples into laboratory information systems
- Sets up, cleans, and maintains laboratory and field equipment
- Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment
- Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics and high technology Industrial applications to perform work duties
Under direct supervision, technicians and laboratory scientists assist with data or specimen collection and laboratory procedures. Performs laboratory related housekeeping, clerical and store keeping duties.
Pay and Location PLEASE NOTE:This position pays $21.37 Per Hour/Up to 29 Hours a Week. The office is located in Barnesville but the position covers Spalding County. This posting is subject to close once a suitable candidate has been selected. Equal Opportunity Statement
