With an enrollment of over 3,100 students, GSC provides an intimate academic setting with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, where students receive individualized attention from dedicated faculty and staff.

Job Summary

This is a temporary, part-time driver pool position to support Intercollegiate Athletics, Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. The number of hours per month will vary according to department needs and driver availability.

Responsibilities
  • Provides transportation for students, employees and guests of the College.
  • Ensures the safety of all passengers under the care of the College.
  • Operates all equipment in a legal, safe manner, free of impairment due to drugs and/or alcohol.
  • Ensures the vehicle is in good working condition and fueled prior to and after scheduled trips.
  • Completes post-trip inspections.
  • Reports any mechanical and maintenance issues to the Director of Facilities or their designee.
  • Works with the Trip Sponsor and passengers to ensure the bus is clean after each trip.
  • Assists with loading/unloading of luggage, equipment, or other items when needed.
  • Completes new hire compliance training and annual/bi-annual refresher training as required by the College.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger Endorsement.
  • Must possess an acceptable driving record and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report review.
  • Two (2) years of experience driving passenger buses.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and is subject to random drug testing.
  • Able to drive flexible hours.
  • Must be able to lift 20-50 pounds and sit for extended periods of time.
  • The work is typically performed in a vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of state motor vehicle laws and department of transportation rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of potential maintenance issues with charter buses.
  • Skill in oral communication.
  • Ability to safely drive a large, multi-passenger vehicle.
  • Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and engage in ethical conduct.
  • Ability to abide by all traffic guidelines (including school zones).
  • Ability to work independently.
