Position: Driver - Boom Truck - CDL is Required

Amwaste is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill open positions for boom truck drivers in the Barnesville, GA and surrounding areas.

Job Description

A Boom Truck driver is responsible for safe operation of a boom truck and providing courteous waste removal services for customers who reside on the designated route. The driver is responsible for ensuring all safety rules are followed, ensuring vehicle compliance with company safety standards and state and federal regulations, completing daily vehicle inspections, and maintaining good customer service skills, time management, and teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Operates a boom to collect leaf and limb piles.
  • Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
  • Safely operate heavy truck along the designated route to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
  • Tag and report waste that cannot be collected according to proper procedure.
  • Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize downtime.
  • Complete required route/productivity sheets, DVIR and other reports, as required.
  • Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
  • Class B CDL.
  • Previous experience with a boom truck or other waste removal service is required.
