Social Worker - Hendon
Employer: Virtual Bridges
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Location: Hendon, London
Role Overview: The successful candidate will work closely with children, families and multi‑agency teams to improve family outcomes, focusing on safeguarding children and empowering families to thrive independently. The role offers a supportive working environment, with opportunities for learning, development and career growth.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with families, children and other professionals to develop and implement tailored support plans.
- Manage complex court cases involving child protection investigations.
- Coordinate and chair meetings, produce concise reports and engage effectively with children and their families.
- Ensure all interventions prioritise child welfare and family support, making decisions in line with statutory guidelines.
- Promote a safe and positive environment that upholds the values of social care.
- Social Work qualification and HCPC registration with at least 2 years of experience.
- Proven experience managing complex children and family cases, particularly in court proceedings and child protection.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding principles and children’s social care theory, legislation and practices.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis and professional judgement.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet operational demands, including emergencies.
- A valid DBS check and UK work authorisation.
- Must be able to safely transport children and families when required.
- Salary: £45,000 per year.
- 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
