Support Worker, Child Development​/Support

Salary: £13.00-£13.50 Depending on experience

Work pattern: Saturdays and some school holidays )

Are you passionate about supporting children and families to thrive within their local community? We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Family Support Worker to deliver engaging activities and meaningful support to children and their families.

As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children and families to promote positive social interaction, build confidence, and encourage participation in community life. You will plan and deliver creative, inclusive activities that strengthen family relationships and support child development through play and engagement.

• Supporting children and families to access and engage with local community resources

• Planning and delivering structured and informal play activities

• Encouraging positive social interaction and peer relationships

• Supporting families to build routines and engage in meaningful activities

• Providing practical and emotional support tailored to individual family needs

• Working collaboratively with schools, community groups, and partner agencies

• Maintaining clear, accurate records of support provided

• Experience working with children and families (desirable)

• Understanding of child development and the importance of play

• Ability to build trusting relationships with families from diverse backgrounds

• Creative, proactive, and community-focused approach

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team
