Gas Engineer – Wates Property Services (WPS)

About the RoleWates Property Services (WPS) are looking for a skilled and experienced Gas Engineer to join our team in Barnsley.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality gas servicing, maintenance, and repairs within residential and/or commercial properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

What You'll Be Doing- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing domestic gas appliances and systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out efficient repairs
- Completing safety checks and ensuring full compliance with regulations
- Working on boilers, heating systems, and associated controls
- Providing excellent customer service during property visits
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Accurately completing job reports and documentation
Essential:
- Valid Gas Safe Registration
- ACS qualifications (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1)
- Experience in servicing and repairing gas systems
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Desirable:
- Experience in social housing or property maintenance
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations within property services
- Experience working in a customer‑focused environment
- Reliable, professional, and safety‑focused
- Take pride in delivering a high standard of work
- Confident working independently and managing workload
- Strong customer‑first attitude
