Barnstable County is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Innovative/Alternative (I/A) Septic System Responsible Management Entity (RME), also known as the Barnstable County Septic Utility Program (SUP), within the Department of Health and Environment. This position coordinates program activities, manages databases and records, assists with compliance tracking, and serves as primary contact for residents, contractors, and municipal officials. Candidates should have strong organizational and customer service skills, experience with administrative support and databases, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma, with an Associates degree or additional education in business, administration, environmental science, or a related field preferred, and at least three years of administrative, customer service, or program support experience. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Experience with databases, compliance tracking systems, invoicing, and municipal financial software is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and interact professionally with residents, contractors, municipal officials, and staff. A valid driver’s license is required.
