HYW Kindergarten & 1st Grade Jumpstart Summer Program - Teacher Assistants (4)
Program Goal:
Students entering Hyannis West Elementary kindergarten and 1st grade will be invited to participate in a summer session to prepare these students and their families for Kindergarten and 1st grade, school routines, expected behaviors, supports available, and allay fears.

Job Description:
Teacher Assistants will:
* Assist with the introduction of the incoming Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations
* Assist with modeling expected behaviors in the classroom
* Assist with the delivery of age appropriate activities
* Ride the school bus in the morning and afternoon with students to model expected behaviors on the school bus
* Program staff will report to school administration
Program duration and anticipated schedule
* August 3, 2026 - August 13, 2026
* Monday through Thursday, 8:00am - 1:00pm (5 hrs/day)
* 2 Hours Orientation
* (42 Hours Total)
Qualifications
* Appropriate certification and/or educational background
* Strong planning and organizational skills
