Special Education Personal Care Teacher Assistant (PCTA)
To assist school staff in meeting individualized student and program needs.
One year of college required; two years of college preferred. Physical condition so as to be able to manage behavior/physically challenged students; must have the ability to lift 50 pounds. Interest in and exposure with students with disabilities. Basic understanding of child growth and development. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal or Director of Special Education/Designee may find appropriate or acceptable.
Principal or Designee
This position is individualized due to unique needs of students and programs. Direction of the PCTA is provided by the Special Education Coordinator or Special Education Teacher.
PreK-12 School
Include frequent standing, walking, stooping, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds; and possible exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases, depending on specific assignment.
