GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction for Personal Finance (BUS
175) a 3-credit course that serves as a business elective for students in business programs. This course also meets a general education elective (interdisciplinary studies). Comprehensive instruction includes methodologies for students developing conceptual understanding of personal finance with an emphasis on developing good money management skills.
This position is to be filled for the Fall 2026 semester and the course will be delivered/offered on campus.
- 1. Provide on campus instruction utilizing educational technologies.
- 2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use to fulfill course learning outcomes.
- 3. Track and assess student progress.
- 4. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
- 5. Participate in ongoing professional development.
- 1. Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field (including Education).
- 2. Effective pedagogical, teaching, and presentation skills.
- 3. Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
- 4. Experience in the accounting field.
- 5. Ability to create a classroom environment that engages students and supports learning.
- 6. Skill in using technology to support the writing, teaching, and learning processes.
- 7. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. College-level teaching experience.
- 2. Professional development in teaching at the community college level.
- 3. Skill using MOODLE to support student learning.

Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale (currently $4,536 for 3-credit course). Part-time, non-benefited DCE/MCCC Unit position.
