The Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Public Health Emergency Preparedness Planner. This is a part time, 19.5 hours per week position with no benefits.
This position is responsible for assisting towns and municipalities throughout Cape Cod and the Islands continuously improve their public health emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Key responsibilities include ensuring the completion of deliverables funded through two grants to the Department, the Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant and the Medical Reserve Corps grant. The incumbent will work with municipal health agents and their teams, State and regional counterparts and Medical Reserve Corps volunteers to strengthen public health emergency capabilities.
Minimum requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, emergency preparedness, emergency management or closely related field. Registered Nurse preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a public health or emergency preparedness related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with volunteer coordination and regional planning preferred.
