Overview

Cape Tide strengthens Cape Cod's economy by supporting small businesses and expanding access to entrepreneurial education, resources, and a community of champions.

This is a part-time W-2 position currently funded for an initial one-year term beginning August 18, 2026. Continuation beyond the initial term will depend on organizational needs and available funding.

We're seeking a warm, organized, adaptable, and community-oriented Program & Community Manager to help facilitate entrepreneur programs and public events while serving as a primary point of contact for participating entrepreneurs.

Position Details
  • Position: Program & Community Manager
  • Type: Part-Time W-2 Employee
  • Compensation: $32/hour
  • Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week, with slight seasonal variation based on program needs
  • Benefits: This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored health insurance or retirement benefits.
  • Reports To: Executive Director, Cape Tide
  • Location: Hybrid; significant in-person presence required on Cape Cod

About the Role

The Program & Community Manager serves as the lead operational staff member during Cape Tide programs and events. This role combines relationship-building with hands-on program coordination to ensure entrepreneurs, volunteers, and instructors have an outstanding experience.

Cape Tide's curriculum, schedules, class materials, and operational systems are already established. The Executive Director oversees program strategy, curriculum, mentor management, partnerships, fundraising, and organizational communications. The Program & Community Manager focuses on facilitating program delivery, coordinating logistics, and supporting entrepreneurs throughout their experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Entrepreneur Support
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for entrepreneurs
    • Support applications, interviews, onboarding, attendance, and ongoing participation
    • Foster a welcoming, collaborative cohort environment
    • Navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Program & Event Facilitation
    • Facilitate entrepreneur classes, workshops, and public events
    • Coordinate instructors, volunteers, schedules, room setup, food, supplies, and materials
    • Manage attendance, participant communications, and operational records
    • Facilitate Zoom classes, breakout rooms, screen sharing, and participant troubleshooting
    • Troubleshoot operational issues and adapt to changing circumstances
    • Coordinate Final Presentations, Mid-Pitch events, Showcase & Celebration, and community outreach events
    • Welcome participants, introduce speakers, make announcements, and confidently speak in front of groups, including using a microphone during public events
  • Volunteer & Administrative Coordination
    • Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteer instructors and facilitators
    • Facilitate class sessions using prepared materials if a volunteer instructor is unexpectedly unavailable
    • Support Hub Spot CRM, Google Workspace, and other organizational systems
    • Maintain receipts, attendance records, and operational documentation
  • Schedule & Travel
    • Evening availability is required during active programs and events
    • Occasional travel throughout Cape Cod is required; approved mileage and expenses reimbursed per policies
  • Program Timelines
    • Fall Intensive (September–December):
      Tuesday and Thursday evenings; in-person at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and Zoom
    • Spring Accelerator Programs:
      Session A (evenings) and Session B (daytime); both at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce
Qualifications

Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
  • Comfortable facilitating groups, delivering presentations, and speaking publicly, including using a microphone at community events
  • Comfortable troubleshooting issues calmly in real time
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Comfortable learning new technologies, including Hub Spot and Zoom
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and move program supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or cohort-based programs
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, nonprofits, education, hospitality, or community organizations
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Familiarity with Hub Spot or other CRM systems
  • Experience facilitating Zoom meetings
