School Nutrition Delivery Driver/Team Member

The Quabbin Regional School District is seeking a School Nutrition Delivery Driver/Team Member.

• Drive a delivery vehicle to deliver foods from the production kitchen to various schools/sites following a predetermined schedule.
• Assist with packing and unloading of hot and cold items correctly in their containers.
• Unload at site, documenting temperatures when necessary. Place cold items in the site refrigerator and hot food items into the site food warmers.
• Return delivery vehicle to Quabbin Middle/High School.
• Maintain a clean vehicle.
• Transfer food, paper and other food service products between locations while following safety precautions and road safety.
• Exchange School Nutrition mail envelopes and money deposits from each kitchen site and deliver to the School Nutrition Director.
• Make overnight bank deposit drops.
• Perform work beyond the standard work calendar when workload requires.
• Perform kitchen preparation and serving as assigned.
• Work in concert with School Nutrition Supervisors.

• Basic knowledge of food service equipment and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work for extended periods while standing, with full range of bodily movement and lift 40 lb.
• Possession of a valid and appropriate Massachusetts Driver’s License.
• Experience driving and operating a light/medium delivery vehicle safely and in conformance with State laws; provide recent driving record.
• Demonstrate safe driving practices, including proper methods for lifting and loading supplies and equipment.
• Proper operation of hand trucks and dollies.
• Maintain a tight work schedule without close supervision.
• Ability to keep simple records.
• Work quickly and efficiently.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the workday.
• Drive under all weather conditions.
• Other qualifications as determined appropriate by the superintendent.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $18 to $19 per hour
