About the Role:
The Executive Assistant to the President & CEO plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the executive office. This position is responsible for managing complex calendars, coordinating high‑level meetings, and facilitating communication between the CEO and internal or external stakeholders. The Executive Assistant acts as a trusted liaison, handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism. By anticipating the needs of the President & CEO, this role supports strategic initiatives and helps prioritize tasks to maximize productivity.
Ultimately, the Executive Assistant contributes to the overall success of the organization by enabling the CEO to focus on leadership and decision‑making.
The base salary range for this position is $73,000‑$82,000. Additional compensation opportunities and incentives will be detailed during the interview process. Please note that the range listed above is our good faith estimate of the hiring range for this role. If you are hired at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, experience, and internal equity across the current team.

Blue Cross has transitioned to a hybrid workplace. This position will be expected to work in the office Monday‑Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting senior executives, preferably at the C‑suite level.
- Proven ability to manage complex calendars and coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced corporate environment or nonprofit sector.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software.
- Advanced skills in data organization and presentation design.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
- Prior experience supporting a President, CEO, or equivalent executive leader.
- Manage and maintain the President & CEO’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare, review, and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents on behalf of the CEO.
- Coordinate and facilitate communication between the CEO and board members, executives, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and support executive meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Assist with special projects and research as requested by the President & CEO.
- Serve as a gatekeeper, prioritizing inquiries and requests to optimize the CEO’s time and focus.
The Executive Assistant utilizes exceptional organizational skills daily to manage the CEO’s demanding schedule and ensure seamless coordination of meetings and events. Strong communication skills are essential for drafting clear, professional correspondence and facilitating effective interactions with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in technology enables the assistant to efficiently prepare presentations, manage virtual meetings, and handle data with accuracy. Discretion and confidentiality are critical when managing sensitive information and acting as a trusted representative of the executive office.
Additionally, problem‑solving and multitasking abilities allow the assistant to anticipate needs, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
