PositionCapstone is seeking a part-time, 25-hour per week Child and Adult Care Food Program Assistant to join our work in serving child care providers in central and northern counties in Vermont. This position will implement the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and other programs designed to recruit, establish, and support childcare providers to enhance home-based childcare’s quantity, quality, and stability in the community.
The ideal candidate will work remotely in a Vermont home based office. Frequent travel is required to support providers.
- AA in nutrition, health, education, human services, or a related field, or a comparable combination of relevant work experience and training.
- 4 years of experience working in a human services field, especially in family, child, or adult care operations and best practices, including demonstrated competence and sensitivity in working with low-income individuals and families from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience educating others on topics of nutrition and age and developmentally appropriate education and care in both formal and informal settings.
- Experience supervising, evaluating, and training personnel.
- Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team toward shared goals and objectives.
- Implement the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program and VT Family Child Care regulations.
- Network with appropriate agencies.
- Ability to travel to home based child care providers and work performed in an office environment.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a 25-hour per week standard schedule and competitive pay at $19.28–$26.02 per hour. Capstone’s benefits program offers generous paid time off, health, dental, and life insurance plans, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
