Barre Town Middle & Elementary School in Barre, Vermont is hiring a General Education Para educator to serve as Home and School Coordinator, beginning mid‑August 2026. The role focuses on coordination services for the home‑school community and supervising lunch and recess to ensure student safety.

Salary: $20 to $21 per hour

• Read and interpret documents such as lesson plans, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before the school principal and other substitutes or organizational leaders.

• Knowledge and experience with word‑processing programs and databases.

• Solve practical problems and handle varied variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Interpret instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Communicate courteously, effectively, and respectfully with students, faculty, administrators, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
• Work cooperatively and effectively with peers, supervisors, parents, and outside agencies.

• High‑school degree or GED and successful completion of a Para educator Assessment administered at BUUSD Central Office, or an associate’s degree/minimum of 48 undergraduate credits.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
