Home Visitor

The home visitor works with an assigned caseload of families to support parents in strengthening their skills as the primary educators of their children. Home visitors develop and apply expertise in preschool development, assessment and implementation of individualized services. The home visitor works cooperatively with other Head Start staff in the Washington County area to deliver quality services to all enrolled families and to further the mission of Head Start.

This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

• Minimum of home visitor setting CDA or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate or baccalaureate degree in early childhood education.
• Experience working with preschool children and their families, understanding parenting issues, adult learning styles, and sensitivity to the needs of low-income families.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance required.
• Ability to commit to a flexible work schedule that includes some evening and weekend hours.
• Knowledge of community resources.

• Excellent communication skills with both young children and adults.
• Demonstrated competency in engaging in effective, nurturing interactions with children and adults.
• Ability to plan and implement appropriate, child-centered learning experiences.
• Familiarity with community resources and supportive services.
• Positive regard for and ability to engage with diverse populations and people with low incomes.
• Commitment to leading and working collaboratively with a team toward shared goals and objectives.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with a 40‑hour per week standard schedule and competitive pay at $19.13 – $22.71 per hour
