AOT Audit Specialist III

Overview

The Audit Specialist III position in the Finance Administration Division of Vermont's Agency of Transportation supports the Internal Audit Team with financial reviews, invoice audits, contract evaluations, and assistance with the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Single Audit. The role involves reviewing indirect cost rates, evaluating internal controls, and coordinating with agency sections to prepare financial documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Perform financial reviews, invoice audits, and contract evaluations.
• Assist with the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and Single Audit processes.
• Review indirect cost rates and evaluate internal controls.
• Coordinate with agency sections to prepare financial documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business management, or related field, OR four or more years of financial operations and auditing experience.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in a government audit role (preferred).
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders on consistent and complete documentation.
• Knowledge of financial controls evaluation and corrective action planning.
