Overview
The Agency of Transportation (AOT) is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to manage the Amtrak contracts for state supported train services. The position will negotiate contracts with Amtrak and other state partners, represent the State in several national organizations regarding train services, and act as the coordinator for Operation Life Saver regarding train safety in Vermont. Additionally, the position will present safety programs to the public throughout Vermont to educate groups about train safety.
This ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Duties are performed in office and field settings. Incumbents should possess private means of transportation. Attendance at public meetings and hearings is required. Evening or weekend work may be required.
Minimum QualificationsAssociate Degree AND five (5) years or more of management experience in one or more of the following areas: (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long‑ and short‑range goals and plans; (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning, or a combination thereof.
OR
High school diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more of management experience in one or more of the following areas: (a) development of program rules and policies; (b) development of long‑ and short‑range goals and plans; (c) program evaluation; or (d) budget preparation OR highway maintenance, engineering, construction, planning, or a combination thereof.
Some positions may require registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
