Day Shift Security Officer – Montpelier, VT

Securitas is hiring for a Full-Time Security Officer immediately to help keep our government clients' site safe in the Montpelier, VT area.

Pay: $25.00/hr

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (30‑minute unpaid lunch break)

• This position is for a temporary detail that will run until May 2026. Once the contract ends, our hiring team will assist you in finding other sites to continue working on a permanent basis.
• No security experience required.

• Provide excellent customer service with a strong sense of professionalism.
• Observe and report on and near the property, identifying and responding to any potential threat or safety hazard.
• Conduct hourly foot patrols of the property.
• Operate a walk‑through metal detector and X‑ray baggage scanner.
• Conduct screenings with a handheld wand detector.

• Highly personable with strong customer‑service skills – must be comfortable with frequent interactions with the public.
• High level of professionalism.
• Walking/standing for long periods of time.
• VT Guard Card – our hiring team will assist you in applying for this license once hired.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 18 years old.

The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently, our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers.
