We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. Responsibilities- Perform Routine Maintenance:
Must be adept at performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on a variety of construction equipment and trucks, both in the shop and field environments. - Diagnose and Repair:
Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain issues in diesel engines and heavy equipment. - Conduct Inspections:
Thoroughly inspect diesel engines and equipment to identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacements. - Execute Repairs:
Skillfully repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. - Record Maintenance:
Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance activities conducted on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Tools:
Must possess and maintain personal hand tools required for the job. - Experience:
Previous experience as a diesel mechanic is mandatory. - Mechanical Aptitude:
Demonstrated strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. - Technical
Skills:
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with transmission systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems is essential. - Problem‑Solving:
Excellent problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail. - Team Player:
Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team. - Driving Record:
Clean driving record is a prerequisite.
- Promote Safety:
Actively prioritize safety in accordance with MSHA and company standards. - Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment:
Service, repair, and test all mobile equipment to maximize performance and minimize downtime. - Inspect Equipment and Materials:
Identify and troubleshoot errors in mobile equipment, performing necessary repairs. - Handle and Move Objects:
Safely handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and tools within the shop and plant. - Document and Record Information:
Ensure accurate documentation of all mobile equipment repairs and maintenance activities. - Operate Equipment:
Assist in driving heavy equipment throughout the plant as needed. - Perform General Physical
Activities:
Engage in physical activities required for the job, including climbing, lifting, balancing, and handling materials.
- Experience:
Prior experience in diesel or heavy construction equipment maintenance preferred. - Best Practices:
Familiarity with general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is advantageous. - Flexibility:
Willingness to work overtime and in various weather conditions. - Mechanical
Skills:
Knowledge of industrial tools and maintenance practices.
