Job Description:

Are you interested in doing meaningful, mission‑driven work with families? Join our Easterseals Vermont team as a Family Engagement Specialist. You will facilitate family meetings, provide in‑home support, coach parents with children in DCF custody, and engage extended family to strengthen support networks.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate family meetings and provide in‑home support to strengthen families in their homes.
  • Coach parents to create safe and nurturing environments for their children placed in DCF custody.
  • Support families in meeting the needs of their children in the moment.
  • Call extended family members to explore support and create genograms.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Children and Families – Family Services Division.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field (preferred).
  • Two years of human services experience (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check.
  • Own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets coverage limits.

Hours:

Full time, 40 hours per week Monday‑Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Flexibility is provided to support parents’ individual schedules.

Compensation

Starting at $20.00 per hour. Additional compensation based on experience and degree: $20.50 for an Associate’s degree; $21.00 for a Bachelor’s degree; $22.50 for a Master’s degree.
