About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Family Law Clerkto support a growing family law practice in Simcoe County. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing files from intake through resolution, including court-related and negotiated matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, format, and finalize family law documents, including materials for court and settlement processes
  • Prepare and file documents through Ontario court systems and portals (as applicable), and manage service and filing confirmations
  • Assist with financial disclosure organization and document management
  • Maintain diaried deadlines, limitation periods, court dates, and client follow-ups
  • Coordinate court appearances, conferences, mediations, and examinations (including scheduling and preparation of briefs/materials)
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third-party service providers
  • Manage file opening/closing, trust-related administrative support (as directed), and general practice administration
  • Support lawyers with trial/hearing preparation (tabs, briefs, exhibit organization, and document production)
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
    as a family law clerk in Ontario (required)
  • Diploma in Law Clerk / Paralegal studies or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario family law processes and documentation (court forms, conferences, motion materials, settlement documentation)
  • Excellent attention to detail, proofreading, and document formatting skills
  • Strong time management and ability to manage multiple urgent deadlines
  • Confident, client-focused communication skills and sound professional judgment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with practice management software is an asset (e.g., Divorcemate, LEAP, Cosmolex, or similar)
