Our client, a growing and reputable construction company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their Finance team and work closely with the Director of Finance. This is a key role for someone who understands construction accounting—particularly within roadworks and asphalt operations—and can contribute both strategically and hands‑on across the department.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Director of Finance in overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations across the business.
- Manage and review job costing, ensuring accuracy across projects, budgets, and cost tracking.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and strong cash flow management.
- Assist with financial reporting, month‑end close, and internal controls.
- Provide coverage across the team (AP, AR, payroll, admin) during absences or peak periods.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate project setup, cost allocation, and financial tracking.
- Contribute to process improvements and overall efficiency within the finance function.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or a related industry (road‑works, asphalt, heavy civil).
- Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, AP, and AR processes.
- Experience working in a hands‑on environment with exposure to full‑cycle accounting.
- Proficiency in Acumatica is strongly preferred; experience with Bid2
Win and/or B2W Track is an asset. - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Positive, team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to step in wherever needed.
- Competitive salary in the range of $110,000–$125,000.
