The Township of Springwater, located in the heart of Simcoe County, is a mixed urban/rural municipality with growing urban settlements and a prosperous agricultural sector. The municipality is currently recruiting a summer student to work in its People & Talent department.
Position ResponsibilitiesThe usual responsibilities of the position are:
- Assist with recruitment and selection, including job posting and interview documentation;
- Assist with retention scheduling and archive work within our document management system, including electronic scanning of documents and filing;
- Assist with collective agreement implementation;
- Assist with training and development initiatives, including content creation for LMS;
- Create and draft correspondence or other documentation;
- Assist with special projects; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- All applicants must provide confirmation of post‑secondary full time student status in current academic year and/or acceptance into full time studies in September 2026.
- Enrolled as a student in human resources, labour relations , or related discipline.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
The rate of pay is $20.71 per hour (2025 rate) plus vacation pay and statutory holidays as per the Employment Standards Act.
Hours of WorkThis position will work 35 hours per week, including afternoons and weekends. Successful incumbents must be available to work exclusively from May to Labour Day.
